EuroSCORE II (European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation) is a risk prediction model that estimates 30-day mortality after cardiac surgery. Developed from European surgical databases, it uses 18 patient variables including age, renal function, pulmonary disease, cardiac function, and type of surgery. EuroSCORE II is the most widely used cardiac surgery risk calculator in Europe and is commonly used alongside the STS score.

EuroSCORE II replaced the original EuroSCORE (which used an additive or logistic model) in 2012. While both the STS score and EuroSCORE II predict operative mortality, they use different databases, variables, and statistical methods. Studies have shown that EuroSCORE II may overestimate risk in some populations.
